The Start of Something New

Hello Everyone! We're so glad you stopped by!

As you all know, Josef (Joey) and Tessa House have been working in publishing and writing for several years now. They have several books published and a couple short stories as well, and they have decided that since they are already published authors with their own publishing company, BB Books, why not start an online magazine as well?!

BB Books is excited to offer something new to their list of their wonderful campaign, and we hope that you will enjoy it as well!

Folkabilly Magazine was the brain child of Tessa House, and it has flourished into something spectacular. As musicians, as well as authors, publishers, editors, artists, and, well, the list goes on and on with creativity, Tessa and Joey wanted to bring the spotlight to local Ada Arts & Entertainment. With the uprising of live events all over the Ada area, they felt like local newspapers and magazines weren't doing the Arts justice, and with that, they vowed to bring it to the people of Ada. Folkabilly will not only focus on music, but will include artists, painters, sculptors, producers, writers, directors, bloggers, designers, and anything else that is hand-made or hand-played.

"We want the people of Ada to have a place to go to when they want to know what's going on with the Arts in Ada. They can just open up the magazine and find a local event they can attend during the month, or learn a little more about our local artists by reading the spotlight features. If they want to find a great local album to start listening to, or if they want to find out about a new venue or art store, it's all right there in the magazine," says Tessa House."We want Ada to go a little retro with the new technology we have today. In the 90's, live music was all the craze and a typical night out included food and a good live band. So, we want people to use the technology of today to find things to do socially outside of technology. Instead of sitting at home and playing XBox or Farmville on your phones, find out what's going on in Ada and get out and about. Support live music by being there, cheering the band on. Support hand-made products by getting out and buying them. Go to an art show. Go to a play. Use your technology to share these experiences with others, and invite them to join you next time."

BB Books is currently working on the first Issue, which will release at the end of June.
